Restaurateur/nightlife impresario Michael Sutton and business partner Adolfo Suaya (The Lodge, Memphis) have soft-opened this high-concept club hearkening back to the bohemian 1960's jet-set crowd of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Looking to bring a little exoticism to La La Land, the decor--care of rising design rock star Kristopher Keith--evokes the tropical decadence of India's Goa beachfront. As a supper club, the far-out scene meets a limited menu of sushi and other Japanese-style fare. But nobody really comes here for the food--clubbers looking for the next big thing try their chances at the door, hoping to schmooze the bouncers and break in for a night of dancing and star-gazing.

The club itself has the potential to be intimate, but the acts that play this legendary spot in Seattle are far too wild to keep things quiet--especially not with one of the best sound systems on the Sunset Strip. Floor-level and raised standing area (with some occasional seats), a spacious dance floor/mosh pit, and a bar loaded for beer all add up to an authentic Seattle experience. Eclectic to the max.

Under a modest awning along Ivar, bouncing beach balls fill an open-air courtyard of illuminated palm trees, reflective pools and 10-foot waterfalls. Chris Breed's sequel to the Sunset Room offers Cote d'Azur flair with cabanas hosting spa treatments and bottle service from the sexy staff strutting around in uniforms by designer YMI Jeanswear. Inside, a two-tiered dance floor offers a gilded mahogany bar, VIP rooms and stage for hip-hop events, rock shows and catwalk fund-raisers.

Double doors lead a steady stream of club-goers inside and onto the checkered dance floor of this 1960s beauty parlor, where henna tattoos and manicures are the only pampering services offered. Beers and cocktails flow at the bar while a friendly and unpretentious crowd lounges around hair dryer chairs, antique salon mirrors, a photo booth, jukebox and plastic-covered sofa. Resident DJs enter at 10pm and play '80s hits, rock-and-roll and pop grooves the rest of the night for a vibe that's gritty, yet accessible and cute.

Tucked discretely within a just-south-of-Sunset boutique hotel, this velvet-roped alcove admits only hotel guests and their VIP invitees. Ornately framed photos of Roger Daltry and Ozzy Osbourne add an old-school edge to the revamped space, which maintains its elegance through warm gold lighting and sleek white couches. With enough space for 45 normal people--or 150 supermodels/rock star arm candy--the intimate room spills onto a relxed patio, where posh crowds puff cigarettes, swill ultra-premium liquor, and schmooze screenplays in the shadow of the Strip.
